Style: Brown Ale
ABV: 45%
Appearance: A good dark brown that’s very close to black once it’s poured. A nice off-white head that mostly sticks around for a while.
Aroma: Biscuits, caramel, a bit like a Maryland chocolate chip cookie… Which makes me want a cookie!
Flavour: Surprisingly bitter, but with an underlying sweetness that feels like it’s trying to get out. A hint of caramel but too hoppy to really shine through.
Mouthfeel: Relatively thick, syrup-like feel
Overall: From the look and smell it had the potential to be quite moorish but is let down by heavy bitterness.
My rating: 3.25/5
